Niektóre mody nadal używają starej wersji, więc twórcy pozostawili możliwość jej instalacji. Z drugiej strony wersja "Classic" Gothic jest starą wersją gry, sprzed marcowego patcha 1.08k_mod. Nazwałem tę wersję "New" Gothic w pierwszej części mojego poradnika, ponieważ prowadzi ona przez modyfikacje tej wersji gry. Nadal jednak możesz modować tę wersję gry z innymi łatkami społecznościowymi, poprawkami, teksturami i DX11. Gra powinna obecnie działać bezpośrednio po instalacji bez konieczności instalacji dodatkowych plików. Łatka 1.08k_mod jest oparta na społecznościowym SystemPack. twórcy zaktualizowali Gothic I o łatkę 1.08k_mod, ponieważ gra miała problemy z działaniem na obecnych systemach. Some mods still use old version so developers left ability to install it too. On the other way "Classic" Gothic version is old version of game, before March patch 1.08k_mod. I call this version "New" Gothic in first section of my guide as it guides you through modification of this version of game.

But you can still mod this version of game with other community patches, fixes, textures and DX11. 1.08k_mod is based on community patch named SystemPack. In March 2021 developers updated Gothic I with 1.08k_mod patch because game had problems to run on current systems.
